Does not replace a real iron, so keep your expectations in check. So, really it was just the strength of the iron. This flat iron got my bangs to flatten out, but it did not last the whole day.
I use a GHD straightener normally which gets hot enough to undo my hair's natural wave to stick straight up. Full disclosure - I have fine slightly frizzed, cowlick bangs. I had such high hopes for this flat iron as the hair specialist at the store said it worked well. I took both pieces off and re-sewed them farther apart so it now closes uly for people that have relatively straight hairI travel quite a bit and need compact, yet powerful items.
Wish it had a lower heat setting, but there is only 'on' or 'off.' The pouch is a great idea but with the reinforced power cord closest to the flat iron it was nearly impossible to close the pouch far enough to seal the Velcro together.
